A Physical Binding Approach to Microplastics

Qi601™ Biofilm Shield™ is a non-living postbiotic technology designed to work locally within the digestive tract. Rather than relying on absorption into the bloodstream, the technology is built around a physical binding matrix.

1. A non-living biofilm structure

Qi601™ is derived from heat-inactivated Lactobacillus fermentum material cultivated under conditions that promote large, self-aggregating biofilm structures. Because the material is non-living, it is not a traditional probiotic.

2. High-surface-area binding

The resulting biofilm matrix provides a sticky, porous surface that can physically associate with micro- and nanoplastic particles in controlled laboratory models.

3. Designed to work in the digestive environment

Laboratory testing has evaluated Qi601™ under simulated digestive conditions, including acidic gastric environments. These studies support continued plastic-particle association as the material moves through the modeled digestive process.

4. Normal digestive transit

The intended use is for bound particles to remain within the digestive pathway for normal elimination. The product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease, and it should not be interpreted as a claim to remove every microplastic particle from the body.
